Swirly Whirly Purse

Hi Friends,

The Swirly Whirly Purse was made from a design I tried for a hot pad ,called Pretty Petals Hot pad..I found the pattern and thought it would be great for a purse :)

Navy yarn|white yarn|crochet|hook|purse|swirly|handle|lining

I started to crochet from  the center and made the circle . I modified the pattern for the Swirly Whirly Purse  and once I had the center piece done  I finished it off with double crochets :) I crochet in the back of the last row and continued in double crochet changing the shape to a hexagon.  I crocheted a single crochet row.I then made another row of double crochet but in the back loops and only on three sides.

Hexagon Bag

I then made the back of the purse. I  made hexagon shaped piece out of double crochets and matched this up with the front piece  for the Swirly Whirly Purse .

I then reverse crochet both pieces together all around the three sides and along both top edges. I made strap  loops from crocheting around  plastic rings ,leaving wholes in the center. For the handle I crocheted a long chain then braided it pulled the ends through the loops and stitched them in place.

Navy Close up

I made a button by crocheting around another plastic ring and I

stitched it in the center of the front design of the Swirly Whirly Purse :)

A simple navy lining was the finishing touch :)
