Medici Whimsical Cowl

Hi Friends,

Today I have a yarn I found at Romni Wools and I got one ball :)  Sirdar Tuscany Medici Purple   yarn gives you a little bit of everything fashionable — glitter, feathery eyelashes of color, and boucle loops. It gives you a lot of color & texture  . It is a chunky yarn so I teamed it with a vintage yarn I had one ball of, Monique, which is soft ,fluffy ,wool look , chunky in a soft grey.

So what is my whimsical mind going to make ??? :) So I grabbed my 9mm round knitting needle and started to cast on 100 stitches with the Medici yarn:)  I am making a cowl :) Medici Whimsical Cowl :)

I started my Medici Whimsical Cowl  with a knit row, then I did an eyelet row ,and then a purl row. Oh !!!!  one of those nights that the fingers to the walking, or in this case knitting :)

I knew this yarn wouldn’t get me too far, so I changed directions and added the soft grey, fluffy, wool look yarn (Monique).

I did four rows of double moss stitch ,then some knit rounds. I thought ok I need bobbles.I made a row of bobbles, then a couple rows of knit .  Time to decrease some of the stitches :)

I did some more rows of seed stitch. Then I changed back to the fun yarn :)

I went back to the beginning and did a knit row then an eyelet row, and more knit rows.

I knew my Medici Whimsical Cowl needed to have some stiffness. I cast off the stitches.

I used a crochet hook and started to single crochet in the stitches all around.I single crocheted around a couple more rounds.

I finished the top with a picot edge. To close the neck I crochet a chain and pulled it through the eyelet row. I made some tassels to stitch on the ends of the chains.

Cowl WhimThe Medici Whimsical Cowl was definitely a whimsical project  thrindo1 but it felt great to just do it :)
